Quick answer
For repeatable seasonal catches, compare Catfish in rainy Spring, Sturgeon in Summer or Winter, and Night Market fish in Winter. Legendary fish and Qi quest fish are separate choices, not ordinary daily-income targets. The tables rank base sale price per fish, not catch rate or gold per hour.

Year-round fish: access matters more than season
Mine fish, Ginger Island fish, and other year-round catches should not crowd out the seasonal list. Lava Eel and Ice Pip have high prices, but require mine access and difficult catches; they are not default beginner recommendations. These prices do not include professions, quality, or smoking.

Legendary and quest fish are separate targets
Legend, Crimsonfish, Angler, Glacierfish, and Mutant Carp need their own catching route and access conditions. Their high sell prices do not make them repeatable everyday seasonal income. The Extended Family variants require Qi's quest and should not be treated as normal season-only catches. Use the legendary fish guide before planning a catch. Once caught, legendary fish can produce Roe in one-fish ponds: compare the legendary and regular Fish Pond options.
